Halfway
between the mounts of Vaucluse and Luberon, Goult
is a small peaceful and authentic borough.
Perched village, it however has the characteristic
to be posed on a hillock and not fixed on a rock,
like its neighbors, which makes it more discrete.
History of the rather calm village east. It was
the stronghold of the famous family of Agoult
to the Middle Ages.
The 14th century there considering being established
an important industry of glassmaking whose quality
was worth the protection of King Rene to him.
One of its hamlets, Lumière was made famous
at the 17th century:
an inhabitant of Goult, attracted by mysterious
lights, miraculeusement is miraculeusement cured
of a eventration. It will be the beginning of
a series of miracles which will attract a multitude
of pilgrims until the 18th century.
This time will see the construction of a convent,
a fashionable country inn for the pilgrims and
a church. The place will fall little by little
into forgets at the 18th century and will owe
its safety only with the devotion of priests missionaries,
Oblats.
Notre Dame de Lumière is always a place
of pilgrimage and rest for the Oblats Fathers.

In
the village :
Leave your vehicle to the carpark in front of
the church. Profit in to visit it.
It is a unit made up of two joined churches, Romance
and a gothic script.
Go up to discovered from the old village. You
will amongst other things admire there the vestiges
of the old ramparts, of the strengthened doors,
a windmill.
The castle, built presses some on the rock at
the 13th century was altered at 17th and the 19th
century. Its territory is separate into two by
a street.

Notre Dame de Lumière:
The church was contruite at the 17th century.
The crypt is built on the vestiges of a hurdy-gurdy
vault.
La chapelle Sainte Véran :
It is dedicated to Vérane saint who according
to the legend catapulted a dragon in the south
of Bonnieux which in its violent fall dug the
combe of Lourmarin. Built on a limestone base,
its walls are particularly thick for such a modest
building and it was probably set up with the site
of another collapsed building.
